OUR MISSION IS TO BUILD STRONGER PEOPLE, BETTER FIGHTERS, AND A COMMUNITY THAT NEVER BACKS DOWN.

BUILT ON DISCIPLINE. DRIVEN BY PURPOSE.

At Steel Cage Gym, we believe greatness is earned, not given. Our philosophy is built on hard work, discipline, respect, and the relentless pursuit of becoming better. Through elite boxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and strength and conditioning training, we're raising the standard for combat sports in Niagara, St. Catharines, and Thorold. Whether you're training to compete or simply challenging yourself, our mission is to help you discover what you're truly capable of.

ALL LEVELS. ONE COMMUNITY.

You don't have to be a fighter to belong here. Steel Cage Gym is more than a place to train. It's a community built on encouragement, accountability, and mutual respect. From first-time beginners to seasoned athletes, we're committed to making world-class coaching accessible to everyone. Our goal is to build more than champions. We're building confidence, character, and a stronger Niagara community, one person at a time.

THE STEEL CAGE STORY

Born and raised in Niagara Falls, brothers Joshuah and Gabriel Lupia grew up side by side, developing a passion for boxing from the ages of 11 and 12. Their shared love for the sport would become the foundation of a journey that ultimately led them to create something much bigger than boxing.

After years in the sport, their lives took an unexpected turn when professional boxer Joshuah Lupia caught in the cross fire of a shooting in his hometown. What followed was a life-changing journey that required three major surgeries, two long years of recovery, and incredible mental strength. Through it all, his brother Gabriel, girlfriend Rebeca Da Costa, and best friend Michael Drake stood firmly by his side. They witnessed his lowest moments, challenged him when he doubted himself, and celebrated every step forward because they knew this wasn't the end of his story.

It was through this difficult journey, and as Joshuah grew closer to his Christian faith, that he began to understand his purpose extended far beyond boxing. Together, they recognized the influence they had on the younger generation and the responsibility that came with it. They wanted to show young people that the things worth admiring are strength, resilience, and the ability to overcome adversity, rather than glorifying recklessness or choices that can change a life forever. They wanted to be real examples of what can go wrong, how quickly life can change, and how adversity can become an opportunity to find a new direction and purpose.

Together, this team created Steel Cage Gym to give back to the community that raised them and build something meaningful for generations to come. More than a gym, Steel Cage is a place where people of all ages can come together, find mentorship, build character, and discover their potential. The team believes that when people come together to do things that make them feel healthy, strong, and confident, they create the foundation for genuine friendships and a supportive community. Their vision is to build a family beyond the gym walls, where people can grow together through sport and support one another along the way. Through Joshuah's story and the experiences that shaped them, the team hopes to inspire the next generation and show them that their circumstances do not have to define their future.

“Best gym in Niagara, great boxing classes, great bjj (Brazilian jiu jitsu) classes. World class coaching.

Highly recommended for anyone interested in learning to defend themselves, stay in shape, get in shape, and be part of a growing family oriented boxing community.”
